T.C. KÜTAHYA DUMLUPINAR ÜNİVERSİTESİ
After its founding in 1992, the Faculty of Engineering opened the Departments of Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering and commenced undergraduate education in 1993-1994 academic year. The Departments of Ceramic Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Mining Engineering commenced undergraduate education in the following academic year. The first undergraduates were awarded their B.Sc. degrees in 1997. The Departments of Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering and Geological Engineering commenced undergraduate education in the academic years of 1997-1998, 2005-2006 and 2006-2007, respectively. The Department of Ceramic Engineering was renamed the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering in the academic year of 2018-2019. Departments of the Faculty have adequate laboratory facilities for experimental courses and research activities apart from the access to the University’s “Advanced Technology Centre-ILTEM” for especially our post graduate students. The Faculty has 8 laboratories and a tile-ceramic production workshop covering a total area of 5700 m2. The Faculty of Engineering has 4 main Educational Blocks together with the Faculty Administrative Block: Block-A accommodates the Departments of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering with 4 amphitheatres, 10 lecture halls, 1 computer laboratory, 1 CAD-CAM laboratory and 1 Operation Research laboratory together with academic staff offices. Block-B accommodates the Departments of Mining and Geological Engineering with 14 lecture halls, 1 Computer Laboratory, 3 Geology Laboratories together with academic staff offices. Block-C accommodates the Departments of Electrical and Electronic and Computer Engineering with 3 amphitheatres, 9 lecture halls, 1 Computer Laboratory and 2 Departmental Laboratories together with academic staff offices. Block-D accommodates Departments of Civil and Metallurgy and Materials Engineering with 4 amphitheatres, 15 lecture halls together with academic staff offices. The Faculty of Engineering has its own stationary/book shop and canteen facilities for the staff and students and is located in the Evliya Celebi Campus which has unique architectural characteristics and natural beauty.
